F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus database update (Database number 99, published on the 12.6.2006) may have caused slowness on certain Symbian devices. The effect has been visible with older devices equipped with slow processors.

Phones which might have experienced some slowness are: Nokia 3232, 3650, 3660, 6260, 6600, 6670, 7610, 7650, N-Gage, Panasonic X700, X800 and Siemens SX1, Nokia 9300 and 9500 Series Communicators.

The phones which have F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus solution have been under protection all the time and there is no danger of possible infections.

F-Secure apologises for any possible inconvenience caused by this incident and has taken all possible precautions to prevent this from happening in the future.

Customers subscribing to the continuous F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus service have already received an automatic push up-date by an SMS that contains the fix for this.

The users who have not received an SMS update, please follow the instructions below:

1. Open F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus
2. Go to the settings view (Options - Settings)
3. Change scanning mode (Mode) from Real-time to Manual
4. Select Back
5. Execute a manual update (Options - Update Anti-Virus)
6. After a successful update, go back to the settings view (Options - Settings) and turn the scanning mode (Mode) from Manual back to Real-time
